Creative Cloud applications will be updated reasonably frequently with any newly developed features. Creative Cloud is based on a monthly/annual subscription.

Education Enterprise Agreement (EEA)
A one- or two-year term-based licensing programme that helps primary and secondary schools minimize the cost and complexity of providing Adobe software to their faculty, staff, and students on institutionally owned or leased computers.

The EEA programme is an easy-to-manage licensing program that gives educational institutions access to the new Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Institutional customers can have the creative tools they need to be more productive, foster creativity in teaching and learning, and help their students develop essential digital communication skills.

EEA provides your institution access to feature releases and updates for the products licensed over the EEA term. Cost is based on the total number of full-time equivalent (FTE) faculty and other staff.

Enrolment in EEA allows for the Design & Web K-12 Collection to be installed on ALL of the institutions owned/leased computers. The Add-Ons can be installed only onto the number of computers for which Add-On licences have been purchased.

CS6
CS 6 is still available, and according to Adobe "for the foreseeable future", and is what many schools are still purchasing. CS6 licences are perpetual,you can continue to use them forever.

Schools can also still purchase CS6 site licence student addendum, allowing for installation onto student owned/leased computers. You need to be aware that Adobe has stopped Upgrade Plan/Maintenance subscription renewals. They have also announced that there will not be any future Creative Suite releases, nor any updates on CS6 individual products.
