Accessibility

Beamz is universally designed so that you can provide as much or as little support needed to ensure a successful experience. Students with Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Cord Injuries and lack of fine or gross motor skills, are all provided equal access to a unique music-making experience. Beamz lasers can be triggered by:

• Physically interrupting the laser beam with any body part or object, such as head pointers.
• Keyboards and Alternative Keyboards
  All twelve instruments sounds, page swapping and rhythm track activation have correlating key equivalents. This enables players to use standard and adaptive keyboards.
• Switches
  Make Beamz switch accessible by connecting a programmable switch interface. Programmable interfaces allow you to pair key commands to specified jack ports. You can then plug in multiple switches for activating instruments sounds, page swapping and rhythm track start/stop. The number of switches is dependent on how many ports are provided on the particular interface device you’re using – the number of jacks vary from model to model.
• Interactive Whiteboards and Touch Screens
  Beamz software interface is a near replication of the Beamz laser controller. Players can activate lasers and function buttons by touching the lasers and buttons on the screens of touchscreen enabled devices – laptops, tablets, iOS devices and interactive whiteboards.
• Tobii EyeGaze
  Beamz has created a customised version of its Windows Player Software purposefully designed to work in conjunction with the Tobii Eye Gaze.

Autism, Learning and Cognitive Disabilities

Beamz is a Midi Controller, Too

Want to do more? Beamz is a MIDI laser controller – so you can use with any music production, DJ or performance application by assigning the laser beams and buttons for any MIDI command. There’s hundreds of MIDI applications available to get even more creative making music as your skills progress. Beamz is compatible for use with the best selling applications, including Ableton Live , Reason  and Sony software .

Virtual DJ software is included with the Education and Healthcare Package only. 

Imagine yourself making unbelievable sounding music by moving your hands through laser beams!

Beamz is an interactive music product that enables anyone to make music by moving your hands through laser beams with pre-programmed songs. Each interactive song has a background rhythm track which you start by pressing the play button on the Beamz controller; then each laser beam is setup to be a different instrument or sound effect. As you move your hand through a laser beam, you’re adding that instrument into the playback of the song. The Beamz controller lights up 4 red laser beams, and each song has up to 12 different instruments for you to add into the playback of the song so there’s lots of options for you to get creative making the music. The centre button is a SWAP button for you to switch over to other instruments while you’re playing a song.

Beamz also includes a recording feature so you can capture your remixes to playback for yourself or to share with your friends.

What is an interactive song? How are interactive songs different from songs purchased from iTunes or other digital download stores?
